Violeta Parra

Violeta Parra  was a songwriter, folklorist, ethnomusicologist and visual artist. She was born in San Fabián de Alico, near Chillán, Ñuble Province.
She pioneered the Nueva canción chilena, a renewal and a reinvention of Chilean folk music which would extend its sphere of influence outside Chile
Among her most popular songs are Gracias a la vida, Volver a los diecisiete. She took her music to many parts of the world and this year is very important because is her centenary.
I love Violeta because I grew up in Ñuble so I could feel all the love and power of the Parras's influence in art, music, dance, etc. Violeta is an example of strength, talent and passion with her protest songs

Violeta was a poor rural girl who earned the respect of all with her talent and represents the power of all the rural women who fight every day against inequities of class and gender and centralism.

Gracias a la vida that gave us Violeta

The power of women

When I studied sociology I learned to see the world "outside", with the rigor of the sciences, but that was not the real world.  I needed to participate with concrete actions to change the world.
Then, when I entered Journalism, I felt I could organize and participate with contributions from communications very effectively to the movement.
Since August of last year, I participated in a radio program of emancipatory propaganda called “Famosa Feminista Local”. From this program we contribute with humor, memory, music, company and information to the movement, but we feel the feminism like a lifestyle, that is to say, ideas and actions we do every day throughout the day.
Sometime I felt that feminism ruined my life, but I always believe in love and solidatity between women so I feel with hope about the future and new generation.
The power of women is amazing and I feel like a real change is coming.

Chillán in Santiago

This photo is very special for me because I took it this weekend at the Teatro Cariola in Santiago Centro during the All Dance International Chile 2017.
I was using my new camera for the first time and the girls in the photo are from Chillán, like me.
Noelia and Sofia dance at Alejandra Jara Academy, as one of my best friends from the school with which I now share my apartment in Santiago.
Alejandra Jara Academy took all the awards and will now represent Chile in Panama
I feel very happy for the girls, I could see their effort and I have known them since they were little.

The competition was very hard and really, coming from the south to dance, following a passion is really exciting for the dancers and for the spectators.

This photo is special because it is a piece of Chillán, the mountain, the field and my house that came to Santiago.

Revenge is a dish best served cold” Kill bill, 2001

This movie is probably one of my favorite of all time, and the second one is even better. I love Kill Bill because the protagonist is a fierce, independent and strong woman who decides to take revenge against Bill, a very mysterious man.
Kill Bill Vol 2. is the immediate continuation of the Vol. 1
Both films were written and directed by Quentin Tarantino and both have an excellent cast.

When I was younger, Los 80’s from Canal 13 was my favorite series. And now, I count every day that I  need to see again Orange is the new black. I know about the hackers but I want see it with the subtitles in Spanish and in high definition.
